Welcome to Summer- For many of us summer is a new beginning; a time for a family barbecue, a vacation, or some backyard fun. This year it means so much more: a hug from an old friend, a time for reflection and getting to experience our new normal.
This summer, the Florida Dental Hygienist’s Association, will be growing with new leadership and a new Association Administrator. Tami Miller, our outstanding Executive Director will be retiring at the end of the year and a search committee will be looking for someone to fill this role. On April 20, 2021, I emailed all members announcing a new opportunity for a newly definedposition in FDHA.
After several months of work the transition team has developed a job description and appointed a search committee. The association administrator is a position that entails general office tasks, managing annual reports for the association, working with various committees, and managing the annual symposium. Feel free to contact myself or Terri Beck, the President Elect.
During your time of reflection this summer please consider one of the many leadership positions in FDHA. At our annual session in September we will be looking for new leaders. The Vice President, Secretary, Speaker of House, Finance Committee Region I, and delegates for ADHA are officers that will be open for election. The district trustees will also be holding elections in their individual districts, in particular Northeast District, South Florida District and West Coast District. A simple reminder that leadership isn't reserved for the most popular, the most outgoing, the most consistent in attendance. It is about being available, being willing, and being open to growth in extraordinary ways. Please consider a new role for 2021-2022.
I am looking forward to seeing you all at the FDHA Annual Symposium, September 30, 2021-October 3, 2021. Click here to review the agenda, fees, and to register.
